To wit, a Sunday afternoon visit to Galliano’s ever-changing studio there revealed its appointments du jour: huge photographs of those women at their high-haute best, all killer stares and impossible bodily angles. “It’s to inspire the little ones, to help them feel what they’re wearing,” he said of the girls who would walk his show. “Some of them are 16.”

Miuccia Prada has a knack for cutting through the noise and she succeeded again with a modern collection inspired by black-and-white movies and big-city life. “The vacation mood is impractical now. We must embellish our everyday life and build something more pleasant daily,” Prada said before the show. So rather than “running off to Hawaii,” Miuccia’s man is dressed for a summer in the gray city, decked out in a plethora of slimly tailored suits in micro patterns, plus perforated knits, jackets, hats and shoes.

Leggings made its comeback a few seasons ago and I’ll admit that I have worn and continue to wear a pair every now and then (tastefully, of course).  The 80s-inspired trend has managed to expand from simple cropped or long versions into a variety of styles including cutouts, lace, leather and bright colors. With fall just around the corner, you’ll be seeing even more of these on the streets.

Earlier this month you’ve got a sneak peek of the +J by Jil Sander for UNIQLO ad campaign featuring models Isabeli Fontana and Sean Opry photographed by David Sims, more images were featured on the microsite for the collection. I’m getting really excited after seeing additional images, I’m in love with the long puffer jacket that Isabeli is wearing (pictured), must get my hands on it! The collection will debut at UNIQLO in the US and the UK on October 1st and in Asia on October 2nd, prices range from about $21 to $155. I can’t wait!
